    All About Weather!

Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory, located at the top of a scenic mountain range south of Boston, is a unique American institution. Founded in 1885 for the study and measurement of the atmosphere, it was the site of many pioneering weather experiments and discoveries. The recently established Science Center expands this mission by enhancing public understanding of atmospheric science.

Participants will tour the Observatory to learn about weather instruments and how observers record and analyze the weather. The morning program will include a special balloon launch activity (weather permitting). Optional afternoon programs include a kite making workshop for children of all ages and a special weather forecasting workshop for students age 12 and up.
